It can be tough to get it all out, there should be significant movement at the slave, look at the free travel on your old one, about 3/4"? off the top of my head. A couple quick tips, pull the wheel on that side for better acess, raise the rear of the van so bubbles go up, and invest the whopping $20 at WALMART for a Mity-Vac, you'll find other uses for it and the Mity-Vac alone can often put enough of a pull on the system to bleed out the master, which would actually be my first thought BTW. Make damn sure you had all the air out up there, crack the fitting again, pump some out dripping onto a towel or whatever. That plus the Mity-Vac pumped up well on the slave while someone else pumps the master should do the trick admirably. Or rig a pressure bleeder for the thing, there was once a rumor that a coolant cap fits the brake resevoir, seems unlikely but I never tried it, that plus a little pressurizeable resevoir of fluid with about 20psi or so on it should make bleeding all round a snap.
