Hi Stephen,
I had the same thing happen to me last fall. I had flushed my coolant
system several times and once no coolant came out the radiator bleeder. It
seems most times the coolant will come out the radiator in less than a
minute with the rpm at 2k. I turned the engine off and had air pressure
handy and gave the expansion tank a blast of air and this seemed to remove
the air lock and the coolant came out the radiator and all was then OK with
the system. I think possible the coolant pump can get air locked. Since
this problem I have since put a 7mm hose onto a hand bike tire pump, plug
the hose onto the expansion tank cap and give it a couple of pumps. This
seems to remove the air out of the system with no strain and is easy for one
person to accomplish. You can bleed the radiator this way and not worry
or over heat your precious heads. Don't pump the system up tight just a few
strokes of the pump will do the job. Good luck with your quest.

ps . A good mod is to place a hole in the push rod tube cover directly under
the drain plug. Next time you will love this mod, trust me.
