Well, here's the deal. My Esslinger 2.3 kit came with 200mm flywheel. Vanagon comes with 228mm flywheel for 091(vanagon) transaxle. From what most people tell me, the 200mm ring gear is smaller than the 228. So, the starter teeth will not engage the 200mm flywheel. But, I can use the 200 if I swap to an earlier bus style bellhousing. But my vanagon clutch is hydraulic, the bus is cable actuated. The hydro components bolt to the bellhousing. Crap. Now, to make this work, I need a bus bellhousing, a 200mm clutch/pplate, and a way to make the clutch work. If anybody knows more about this, or can refute my said claims, please, please respond. -PSD |
