Kelly (and others),

Preliminary numbers from Haynes/UK indicate that the price for the Vanagon
manual to list members, if I import them through the Depot, will hopefully
be right around $20 (plus nominal U.S. postage from me to you).  This is
actually BELOW the cover price (adjusted for exchange rate), even including
the shipping cost from the UK.  This price is give or take a buck or two
but should be pretty close.  Actually the price could even be lower; I'm
still looking into a cheaper shipping option.  This assumes that I have the
manuals shipped here right away (rather than bringing them back myself in
the fall).

Lest anybody think I'm trying to undermine any other group deals, Kelly
Bauman is aware that I have also been working on this.  It is very likely
that I get the List the best possible deal because of having a bit more
clout.  (I'm in the trade, already sell Haynes in the U.S., and am also
looking at a much larger order than the List alone would support.)

I hope to have final numbers, and estimated arrival dates, by Monday or
Tuesday.  I suppose we can compare notes at that point and decide whether I
should proceed.  If you've already told Kelly you were interested in a
book, no need to e-mail me as well.  I'm sure that whoever takes care of
it, we can share the info.
