Subject: Help me scope out these "camper" components

Hey all:

Saw an ad in the local paper for an '80L Vanagon at a decent price so I went to check it out. Turns out it's got some "camper" elements - icebox/sink/storage unit along the driver's side. The owner bought the van from his neighbors when they moved and said he knew nothing about this stuff, and I don't either! So:

- The cargo-area carpet had slits in it to expose the middle seat rails. Does this suggest it's an after- market conversion as opposed to an "official" conversion? Or is that how they came from the factory?

- The sink seemed to have 2 faucets; one a kind of "goose- neck faucet with what I'm assuming is some sort of pump handle, and then a smaller faucet beside it. What's that second faucet for?

- Since the owner knew nothing about this stuff and I don't either, how do you test it? There was an attachment outside for city water, and a power attachment. Do you just plug everything in and see if it works? Anything else anybody would suggest?

- The third seat looked just like a regular third seat, but I didn't mess with it. If this was a "factory" installation, should this third seat be this way?

Thanks for any help.
