The fire extinguisher is a very good idea and I think that ALL Vanagon (and probably all other car) owners should have one of these extinguishers handy in thier vehicles at all times. Why? Alot of places they are adding Alcohol to the gas to supposedly cut down on emissions. Alcohol and rubber don't get along so when Alcohol comes to stay, rubber goes away (I made a rhyme :). This especially bad in a rear engined car as your attention is not always on the rear of the van so a fire could start and be really ripping before it caught your attention. I really liked the idea that some people had of putting a fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment and have it activated by a pull handle under the rear seat. Anyone done any more research on this? This might not only save your life, but the life of the van, and maybe even the engine and trans if you catch it quick enough.
