This is not a sending unit. It is a pressure activated switch that closes for continuity when power steering hydraulic system pressure reaches the set point of the switch. Continuity through the switch allows the ECU to up the base (curb) idle speed of the engine to overcome the power steering pump resistance at full pressure output. This keeps your engine from dying while maneuvering in parking areas, etc. with the engine at or near curb idle speed.
