Greetings fellow "Vanagon Masters"

Recently sent for my van's birth certificate, and it arrived today. I don't remember who on the list first posted the information, but if you are reading this, thank you. It is a great conversation piece and I think all would welcome one, so I will supply the info below.

Now a question. My van is different than any other I've seen. And the doc's from Germany make more questions than they answere. Don't know if some P.O. made the changes, or if a dealer did the change to ones he sold, or if it was ? Maybe someone more knowledgeable can help. Here is it's description:

Color: Medium brown metalic with gold accents and gold luggage rack, but VW records indicate color " not registered". Also has "Special Edition" in gold each side lower quarterpanel in script lettering, painted, not decal. Professional work (I'm a Sales Mgr. for an R.V. dealership, I appraise vehicles every day this is "paint" Interior: Stuffed velour captians chairs up-front, bigger than I've seen in any other Vanagon. Plush carpet throughout, looks original, fitted, good installation work. Rear weekender "stuffed velour" seat that reclines into a bed with cushon over engine compartment, same material as front seats. Headliner: light tan velour. Overhead lighting: not VW, rv/van conversion type aircraft lights Window treatments: Not there, but has brackets for venition blinds. Model: per VW, 255-471 Production date: Jan 5th, 1984 Delivery date: Jan 26th, 1984 Delivered to: USA VIN: WV2 YBO 259 EH 067 115

If anyone can share some light on this unit please respond.
