I would think that anything posted to the Vanagon list would be considered public domain, as this list is in the public domain. If anyone owns a copyright© it would be the list itself. Therefore, I think it would be a great idea for the proceeds from the list CDrom to go to the list. If anyone wants to exert a © on anything they posted to the list they can speak up now before the CD is produced and we will not include their "property" and then publicly ostracize them. *grin*

Anyone have an idea on the current size of the archives? If we did this in HTML and had the whole archives on CD, then we could use the CD as a web database and use a website or send users a local file to call pages from the CD. This would allow us to have continual updates when needed. This could also produce future revenue for the list, which I'm sure we'll need if it's going to remain active.

I just read some more of the posts on this and I'm a day late or so. Still their my opinions. -- _______________________ Erik O Akron, Oh 82 GTI Westfalia http://ebyte.com/gl http://ebyte.com/wow
