Ron's right again, the 1.9 waterboxers 60 & 78 hp were delivered in europe from 10/82 (official date), from that date aircooled was history for us. But as carburated engines they didn't pass the smog laws in US, always w/o cat. So you still got the 2.0 aircooled injections until the 1.9 digijets arived (option in europe). Sounds strange, but that's it.
