Pull the motor out of the van, and split the case. While your method is *possible* it would be painful hell, and would allow you to judge all you need to after this parts collision.

Split the case, mark the parts (1 rod, 2 rod, 3, 4), take the pistons, rods, crank, and case to a machine shop. Tell them what happened. Have them check the tollerances/measurements/straightness of all this stuff. A collision like this can crack or bend the crank, and even put the case out of alignment.
