I can't speak for Vanagons as I have only seen 228mm but Rabbits I have
interchenged (along with all the clutch hardware) a 190mm for a 210mm with
no problems.  I think the diesel Vanagon is a little smaller than the gas
so I think the ring gears should be the same!
