On my knowledge the clutch could be 228mm (on my 2.0L aircooled) or 215mm (on Diesels). Presently I'm using a 240mm clutch on a machined flywheel. They all fit on the same gearing of the gearbox input shaft.

I think the diesel Vanagon is a little smaller than the gas so I think the ring gears should be the same!
