I've had a bra on my '91 Westy since the day I bought it (7 years ago)
removing it only to wash the van (at least usually).  No hazing apparent
and the only significant chafing has been on top portion of the chromed
plastic front grille and at a couple of the attachment points by the
doors.  May be worth noting that it's a metallic paint (silver), which I
believe is less likely to show hazing.

One other item though:  The mounting clips have eroded the door
weatherstrip where the leading edge of the doors touch.
