With all the talk of radios lately i'd thought i throw this tidbit in:

DIN is a German standards writing organization.  When a radio says
DIN mount it means the dimensions of the hole the radio fits in is a
standard size.  i have those dimensions somewhere.  it has nothing to do
with how deep the radio goes.  being a german vehicle, our radio
openings are DIN but you must be aware, as others have pointed out, to
use as radio with a depth no greater than 6.25 inches (some people have
fit
6.75" deep radios in though by being careful not to crush the wires in
the back).  A radio with knobs with nuts that hold the radio in would
not be DIN and would need a DIN adaptor plate to fit in a DIN opening.
