Somehow I fixed the temperature problem due to my K+N. I adjusted the idle
with the
big screw (no name). Apparantly my idle was too low. It seems as though,
when the screw gets turned down past a certain point it doesn't lower the
idle any more. I didn't think that I had a problem with the idle because it
was just under 850. There was a problem because the idle screw was turned
down a long
ways past the 850rpm point (but still able to hold close to 850). I
adjusted the screw as close as I could to the point where the idle just hit
the 850 range. Did this by going from a 1000rpm backwards.
Note: I also tightened the spring on the throttle body because it wasn't
closing the valve enough.
After completing these adjustments, it drives faster, smoother, and doesn't
overheat. Why it now runs well questionable, but for me now falls into the
"if it isn't broke, don't fix it" category.
