Impact sockets (at least my 1/2" set from Snap-on) have a max torque spec for non-impact use. They're made for impact use, softer, I guess to prevent shattering of the socket during the impact stroke-not a pretty sight, BTDT+got a scar. As much as anyone uses their 19mm socket, most any brand should do for normal use, but you would be much better off with a SIX-point socket instead of the 12 pt. A feature like Snap-on's flank drive, where the socket hits the head in the middle of its sides is also a big help.
