In my opinion, the vanagon list-serve should be for ALL things vanagon: mugs, models, fridges, leaky heads & fog lights. My pet peeve is when people put unhelpful "SUBJECT" lines, such as "My questions" or "I dare you to answer this". These tell me nothing about the content. PLEASE let's all use the "SUBJECT" line intel-ligently i.e. helpfully, stating the content! of the email. On all subjects, there are certain 'market forces' at work, if a topic (How do I install ear phone jacks in the rear speakers?) generates a lot of traffic it is because people WANT to talk about it, I deleted most all of the CD related emails - unread, but as they are vanagon related, I will defend to the death (of my delete button) its right to exist on vanagon@vanagon.com. In my opinion, nothing is 'off topic' if vanagon related. If no one cares, a thread will die. Maybe list-serve Netiquette suggestions could be posted once a month. My 3 cents worth.
