Hello Listees,

I am 47, married, two boys and have been a VW lover since 1968 when I bought my first beetle (65). I'm a college professor and received my doctorate in 1993 from the University of Tennessee. I have owned a 65, 68, 71, beetle, a 1977 Westy (selling this was the biggest mistake in my life), and currently drive a 1996 Jetta. I just recently bought my second Westy (81) in Atlanta Georgia and transported it to WVA where I currently live. I have taken this on a my mid-life project. I went south to find a Westy with NO rust.

I am taking my time on this project and sometimes feel I have "bit off more than I can chew" but, with the help of the list, I have succeeded in accomplishing many things I thought were beyond my capabilities.

I enjoy playing acoustic guitar (25 yrs), attending Old Time Music Festivals, and fly-fishing (I currently teach a Fly Fishing course at my College). I, like many others, only allow Neil Young and CSNY to be played in my van. Nothing like going down the road in your Westy listening to Neil sing....."Long May She Run."

I really enjoy this list and am looking forward to meeting some of you in the future. Thanks to all that have helped me!

Scott West Virginia
