Hi All,

Okay, I'll volunteer info on myself too. I am 36 and a resident of windy Kansas--it's blowing like crazy right now! As for the 'Hippy' references, I have always been into VW's for their vehicular qualities, rather than their cultural/counter culture connotations. I have been 'into' anything cars/vans/trucks/motorcycles for as long as I remember. I had my first car when I was 10--a 62 Rambler! My dad felt that I should divert my interests from plastic car models to the real thing. By the time I was 16, I had bought and sold about a dozen cars or so. Thoughout the late 70's I stayed focused on 55-57 Chevies, getting to know them inside and out, but the market on them skyrocketed about 1980, so I cashed in what I had and slowly turned my interested to VW's.

Air-cooleds have been my main vehicular focus ever since. I have owned 100's of all types, but the darn Vanagon list sparked and fueled my interest in Wasser Vanagons several years ago. Now I have 3 h2o-cooled Vanagons competing against 4 air-cooled VW's for my attention.

Politics/religion/family life I don't dwell on in my posting. I do have an Environmental Geologist wife who is lucky enough to work at home inbetween traveling to jobsites, a 15 month old terrorist boy, and a 5 year old dinosaur crazy boy. My day job is working for a suburban KC public utility as a Geographic Information System Coordinator--sort of like a computer cartographer (mapper) in normal terms. I graduated from the University of Kansas, but grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. My other active hobbies include playing the banjo, guitar, and mandolin (not all at once though!); working on model cars, slot cars; woodworking and general house maintenance! 8-) ---- Jon Christensen ~Certified VW Nut Check Out the Vintage VW Club of America: Vvwca@primenet.com http://www.concentric.net/~Vvwca
