Hello; I wonder if it's wise to subject myself to the potential criticizing of the people who are not too much like me, and can't stand it.

I'm a 50 something mechanic (donkey doctor) who worked in a BC coastal logging camp on a wide variety of (mostly large) equipment.

My VW history goes back to 1963 when I went to a VW gala at the Jubilee auditorium in Calgary, and saw a brand new Microbus. I must have spent a full hour examining it. The die had been cast. Later in life came a succession of type 2's, 20 or so, from a 61 to an 87 GL. Mostly loafs, 5 69's, 4 70's, 4 75's, and others. All served me well. There were other cars in there as well, even a few American cars, but mostly European.

I've lived in Germany, France, England, Turkey, Italy, but mostly Canada. Seven years in London ont, 10 years in Alberta, 24 years in BC. I've decided that I prefer small villages to large cities. I moved here after a year of research, and am very contented here.

Larry Carter
