I realize that the list is pretty much exclusively focused on copyright and demographic issues these days, so please accept my apologies for posting the following technical questions.

First, I've heard speak of K&N air filters for Vanagons. Do they have an application for an '86 Syncro. If so, where would I find one? (Bus Depot? Kyle?) Can anyone give me a seat-of-the-pants idea of how performance was enhanced or depleted by use of the K&N?

Next, since this subject of K&N filters is likely in the mail list archives -- and soon to be on a CD, the copyright gods willing -- how could I have searched the archives rather than bother the list? I tried via Vanagon.Com, but after waiting 5 minutes I still had received no response. Didn't someone index the archives in Lotus Notes or something?

Thanks! Scott Ogden, Utah 86 Syncro GL [Rancid]
