If you think VW is (was) going out of business in 1995, you haven't been reading the stats on new car sales. The Jetta III is one of the better selling cars in America. The last time I talked to a VW rep, He said that VW has a very strong commitment to sales in the U.S. I think the company was floundering after the death of Hinze Nordoff (sp) until F. Piech took over and now they are moving ahead full steam. However, I don't see a company that sells millions of vehicles world wide spending a lot of time catering to a thousand or so owners to 8-15 year old vans, but it would be nice if they would loosen up on some of the parts that they own the patens on, I E: Syncro parts!
