Eric,

This is interesting in a couple of ways;

First since we've been doing the ECU Chip and Rocker kit on a few Vanagons we've noticed the difference in the running with all three types of Air Cleaners.

We've used the stock 2WD one and have seen an increase in the HP when switching to the Syncro Wire mesh type one from there.

We then switched to the K&N filter and have seen an increase in the HP too.

The point here is that the ECU chip changes the timing on the injectors and the way that the ECU reacts to full throttle.

This fact that the ecu "Chip" is designed to add more fuel at the correct time and this will make your engine NOT run hotter.

Your ECU can only give the engine so much fuel as it's set stock. With the "Chip" your ecu will give More fuel faster when it needs it.

This will make your engine temps cooler because it's Not running lean it's running at the correct mixture.

Many people don't belive the amount of HP gained with this Rocker, Ecu Chip "Kit". If you had a chance to ride in any of the Vans that we've done this conversion too I'm sure you would be interested.
