My Name is Bob Calkins, married, 3 kids (22, 18, 14). We live on 8 acres near Placerville,Ca. in the heart of the gold country. We have one goal...to fill the 8 acres with VW's. Ive been bitten since '67 upon graduation from High School...traded a 55 Dodge wagon for a 58 bug.....the die was cast....Ive had over 100 since then, and currently have 18....some of course are parts cars to keep the rest alive.... have a 80 Westy, 69 Dormobile/Westy, 56 bug (60k orig miles), 70 vert, 68 panel, 70 Penthouse camper, 71 deluxe, 2 Bajas, 67 roadster, 69 bug, 55 single cab, manx buggy, EMPI Sportster buggy (on 47 pan) 78, 79 westys and a couple more burried under the brush up the hill.... My sone and I play with a Bluegrass group...Guitar & Mandolin.... I own a Photography studio as well as teach part-time Photography at local High School and at Sacramento City College..... WE DRIVE OUR VW'S DAILY......... we hit a lot of VW shows on the West Coast....Kelly part recently and Bug Bash on 4-26 (look for Bright Red Dormobile Loaf)..... Bob Calkins
