Hey Volks I have 3 questions tonight so I thought I would break them up so only the interested would read. My 85 auto makes a strange sound when slowing down. While gliding to a stop and for a short time after coming to rest (while still in drive) the transmission makes a sound that is a cross between the whine of gears meshing and the sound of a viscous fluid being pushed thru a small whole. Is this normal? Should I break my piggy bank and get ready for a new transmission? I plan on changing the fluid and cleaning the filter tomorrow just because the van is new to me and I have no idea when it was last done. Any ideas? TIA Later, Stephen Davis 85 Westie |
