I'm going back to Wolfsburg in June with 11 of my students. While there, we're going to the VW Museum. I know lots of you folks have received "birth certificates" from VW Customer Service, but did you know that you can get an "Identity Certificate" from the VW Museum? Its a "formal, suitable for framing" document that is signed by the director of the museum printed on heavy stock paper with the museum's logo (a stylized beetle) in the background. The certificate lists the current owner's name, the chassis number, the model, engine number, paint number and color, option codes, build date, date it left the factory, and port of destination. It will cost $8.00 (to cover the cost...the museum charges for these). If there is enough interest I'll take over a list of names and chassis numbers with me and order them. If you are interested, e-mail me. Ric |
