After weeks of being parked my '85 Vanagon is back on the road with a remanufactured engine. Seems v. nice but my wipers are misbehaving. Work very slowly and then stop. Clicking noise from in the dash area when stopped so I went outside and helped them get to the parked position. Noise stopped. I assume something is seized in the shaft or somewhere. Have I likely done seriours harm. Noise sounded bad but didn't sound terminal? What do I do about this? How do I get at the motor linkage etc.? All advice welcome. Apologies if this has been covered before but I can't get into the archives, I assume they are down. Alan Pickersgill Ottawa, Ontario Canada '85 Transporter (modified as camper) 183,000km |
