Subject: carat owners!

Hey volks, I'm an '88 vanagon weekender owner looking to convert my vanagon to a carat version (I'm jealous). I've only seen a few so I'm not entirely sure how it all goes together, I think/thought I knew more than I did. In dealing with a used auto parts vendor I was told/ asked that the panel on the driver's side, which secures the folding rear table, is a two part section. I thought it was one complete panel from behind drivers seat to rear bench. Have there been different parts from year to year, did it change or what.

not really sure...................set me straight!!!!!!!!!
