Subject: ECU Wiring Question
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

Hello,

I had to purchase a used wiring harness for my 81 Westy's ECU. Unfortunately none of the wires are marked. Using Bentley's, I think I have all of them correctly identified except the wires to the thermo-time switch and cold start valve. According to Bentleys (24.12) the thermo t switch wire is slightly longer than the wire for the cold start valve. But, the color of the plastic cases that surround the wire dont match up if they are color coded. It only seems reasonable to me that the blue cased wire should go to the cold start valve (which is blue) and the brown cased wire should go to the thermotime switch (which is brown). According to Bentley, however, this is not so.

Could someone look at there cold start valve and help me out?

Thanks a million! Scott
