Volks- thanks for telling me the 4 holes are for removing Tug's radio but I don't think I'll try the freezer trick since no one has reported success. No, I'm not a robber- I know my code(!) & have reprogrammed it several times. My problem is getting the constant SAFe to change to 1000 so I can imput the code. I've left it turned on for several hours, pressed SCAN first, then added AM/FM & vice-versa, pulled the fuse while pressing them, & many other variations. I'll bet it's a perfectly simple combination that I just haven't tried. (It's a '90- Heidleburg VI).

How unfair to be forced to go to a dealer or the manufacturer!! Still open for more ideas...
