My 81 does the same thing in the right bottom corner of my front
windshield, to the extent that when I  open the passenger door it pours
out.  I think the rubber gasket holding the glass in is porous and the
water in wicking through the gasket, it doesn't have a shiny surface it
is rough and matte looking.
