Subject: Westfalias in Alaska
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

Hi Volks:

Well Spring's trying real hard here, and I've already seen 2 Vanagons, 1 Vanagon Westfalia in the classifieds. Then today...a '91 2WD Vanagon Westie, 50,000 miles for the low, low price of...TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! Holy Cow! I laughed so hard I cried. I think I'll call the guy anyway and take a look .Oh Boy.

So, what I was really wondering, would anyone ever be interested in flying to Alaska, buying a Westfalia (for a reasonable price), touring around the state a bit, then driving their new rig home? Or how about an EV? Anyway, I think it's a neat idea. Maybe not very realistic. But it would give people the opportunity to visit Alaska, road-trip around in their own rig, then make that long drive home without having to take the time to do it twice (up and down). And what a great drive that is!

The downside is, of course, there aren't enough Westfalias up here in the first place.

Oh well, just an idea.
