Hi Scott Another Michigander! I live in Harbor Springs, ( about 50 mi s. of the bridge) . I didn't realize that anyone else on the planet had owned a 411. My ugly beastie did two things for me, got me around for a while, and introduced me to exhaust valve #3. I felt pretty cool being able to say to my friends that "I had rebuilt Porsche engines". Anyway, it took away the fear of working on T4 motors and as such, gave me a lifelong love VW's. The confidence allowed me to get my first van ('73 w/ blown motor) and I haven't been without one since. If you are ever in the neighborhood, make sure to wave! Mark Rokus
