Subject: Digifant electrical/fuel problem; kinda long.

I have an 87 Vanagon 2.1 (digifant) and need some help with the fuel/electrical system. I have been able to further isolate some of the problems with my engine. When I drive it (which isn't too often) it will run for until the coolant reaches it's normal temp, and about 3-5 min after that. At this point the engine looses almost all of it's power, and will immediatly shut off if you let of the throttle. I have to turn the engine off, then right back on to make it run again. So I'm betting it an electrical problem. And I think the electrical problem is related to the fuel system, I think it's getting too much gas. About a year ago a mechanic, Pat Hoffman from Southland if you know him, found a broken wire that was causing the coldstart valve to be stuck open and cause the fuel system to run in the cold start loop which was giving the engine too much gas. I think the same thing is happening now, but I see no mention of a cold start valve in the Bently, I'm either blind or misunderstood what he said. Any help with locating the cold start valve or any other advise to fix my problem woul;d be appriciated. BTW I also had the idea that this could be in someway related to the coolant temp sender, any thoughts? TIA
