I just plugged the two lines. I did not see the point in recirculating hot coolant into the engine. Home Depot or Builder's Emporium carry a supply of plastic fittings which are for flexible hose. They are the kind that have ridges to grip the hose. I found that the 1/2" or 5/8" plug fit the rear radiator hose almost exactly. Use standard hose clamps to secure them. As an extra precaution, I pulled the hoses through the body wall to the exterior, underside on the vanagon before plugging them. That way, any new leaks would not mess up the interior (I have not had any, the plugs and clamps are secure). Tie the two lines together loosely and secure them to the main radiator line with some cable ties so they don't flop around. ***** John Clavin | jjc@bga.com | Austin, TX *************************** |
