>Maybe everyone else knows this but I'm going to ask it anyway. > >After reading the round quad SA Vanagon headlight thread I began to >wonder if Vanagons supplied to all countries got rectangular headlights >after 1986? Did everyone with rectangular headlights get the same US >DOT specification reflector with a 9004 bulb or did some countries get a >better reflector with a H4 bulb? The "world specification bulb" might >be an alternative for better headlights for people in the US that don't >want to do the upgrade to quad round lights. --------cut-------- I was pursuing this question not too long ago and did get a hopeful response. I had found a firm in Canada called PG Performance that seems to do alot with high performance lighting. I e-mailed them asking if there was an "e-code" H-4 direct replacement for the square hi-low beams on Vanagons. I got a response saying yes there was, and that it would cost $350(!!) Canadian. The response was very brief with no detail so I e-mailed back asking for specifics. That was more than a month ago and I have not heard back. So, anyone interested in this possibility contact PG Performance at info@pgperformance.com. Maybe if alot of us do this we can get there attention and get a meaningful response. Gary |
