PLEASE READ!

Note to all, I just installed my new skylight from Ron @ the Bus Depot and with it I received an instruction sheet showing where to install the "lifesaver-sized" spacers. They go between the pop-top and the two hinges (1 per hinge). !!!The existing screws are now too short, so purchase two new ones (1/4 inch longer carriage screws, they might be 12-24 size??) from a local hardware store!!! If it is this odd size save yourself the trouble from going to those mega stores like "Home Depot" and see a real human being at a real local hardware store (why do you think they are called hardware stores!).

You must unscrew the hinge mounting screw (the one fastening it to the fibreglass pop-top) and remove the hinge. Place the "lifesaver" sized spacer(s) between the hinge mount(s) and the pop-top, install the screw(s) and tighten. For much more detail call Ron and have him fax or mail you the instruction sheet,so you will have an exact illustration of where they go.

For some reason there is something slightly different in this aftermarket design that requires the hinges to sit slightly higher than with the stock one. Don't worry about this difference because once installed everything fits well. I would have liked to compare the new skylight to an OEM one but my Westy only had duct taped plexiglass installed as a poor replacement by the PO. The new skylight is a welcomed improvement.
