I'm not Renier, too,

but the 5 Cylinder sold in SA Vanagons are design like AUDI engines,
but they are slightly different. They do have higher cubic capacity
by lower power, which means on other hand, a higher flat sufaced torque
curve. The 5 cylinder do have 2.5 or 2.6 Liters in SA. The engines

ok, so im not Renier, but yes - the only factory avail engines in the SA
Vans
are the audi 5 cyl (damn good engine!!), which comes in the Caravelle Vans,
(nicer model) and the 4 inline (gas/diesel) which comes in the Microbus
versions (cheaper model).
these vans  - the "Caravelle" and the "Microbus" are both the "Vanagon"
body
style, which is currently being made there new.
as far as i know - the Eurovan isnt sold in SA...
