I went to the dealer and test drove a TDI Jetta. The interior is great, the fuel consumption is excellent, but quite frankly, when sitting in the car at a stop light, the idling engine will vibrate your tooth fillings out. It is acceptably smooth upon acceleration and at speed, but very noisy. A quick around the town spin with plenty of stops had my stomach jumping, and my ears aching. The TDI is simply too much of a beast for such a small car.
