hello all, my name is brian rhodaback and i reside in albany, or. i am new to the list and i enjoy reading the list mail every day, seems to me that alot of people really enjoy their veedubs. i have been away from the volkswagen scene for some time. in the past i have owned-----71 bus, 72 super beetle, 77 bus, 79 scirocco, 79 super beetle covert., 85 quantum sw gl5, and now a 87 vanagon gl syncro. anyway i am looking for some suggestions, i need a work car because we are going to use the vanagon for long trips etc. work is only 10 minutes away and i was thinking maybe a mid 80's fox or golf for the commute. which years are good ?. would diesel be ok? or is the trip to short. i know there is a wealth of info out there, because i read it on the mail list every day. thanks for everyones help in advance. and happy veeweeing to all. the rhodaback's in oregon.
