  I would recommend something other than Fox. Foxes are junk and worthless.
You'd be better off getting a nice Golf or Jetta. Diesels are great, but be
sure compression is checked. It should be above 400 lbs.( 450 would be even
better) . If the compression dose check out good, and you like the car,
automatically replace the injectors and do a major service. Oil changes and
the quality of the spray pattern of the injectors determins the life of your
engine. I have 282,000 miles on my deisel and I still have 440lbs of
compression on all cylinders. If you want a gas engine, stick with Digifant,
89 or newer. It's a very simple fuel injection system and they run smoother
than the CIS cars.  If you buy a this car, replace the temp. sensor for the
fuel injection, O2 sensor and do a major service. Be sure the fuel injection
is properly set up, the timing set to 8 degrees BTDC and the idle stabalizer
properly set up too. Visit a VW Pro.  Michael.   ( If you're in Seattle, I
