There is a little black button-like switch in the driver's door jam that operates both. If you take a pen or screwdriver, you can push it in and then up or to either side a little so that it is jamed in the closed position and thus neither the light nor the buzzer works when you open the door since the button stays "in. " This is the easy way to do this. Mine has stayed like this for 4 years without problems and you can make it functional again if you want...just unjam it and it' ll pop back out. steve
