I posted a question about the Scirocco *euro* light swap into the Vanagon sometime back. I also had a 16V Scirocco with these euro lights These are not the H4 direct replacements for the DOT 4 light system, but lights specific to the european Scirocco II. They look like they are the the same basic design as the Vanagon DOT lights, but the large hi-low bulb is the H4 e-code ( e-code means complies with european lighting standards not US. Identified by a small "e" in a circle on the face of the lens) lens not the junk in the Vanagon. I also did the upgrade to the hi watt DOT bulbs in our Vanagon. Does not play. Checked voltage in to the bulbs while connected; nearly 14V. The bulbs are putting out what they should, the headlights are not. They are a flawed design.

Since I did not own the Scirocco at the same time as the Vanagon, I am unable to answer the question that is the key: will the Scirocco euro light swap actually fit and work in the Vanagon or is the similarity an illusion? If they do fit, I'm another that will forego the SA round lite conversion for this one. Anyone have access to both that can do a test fit?

Gary
