Hello, Just keep in mind that if you simply change tire diameter to change the final drive ratio it will effect how the Van performs around town. You're moving the usuable engine rpm range up and down by only changing one part of the equation. Sure, Mark will have good highway cruising but it *may* be a bit sluggish at lower city type driving. Then again, with a GTI stuffed in the backend it should produce enough torque to compensate. Todd Hill VolksWerks Transaxles Olympia, WA PS- My info shows that Diesels Vans came with a 5.86 not a 5.43 ring and pinion. The 5.43 ratio is a fairly common 002 IRS Bus ring and pinion set. The Diesel trans is apparently a mixture of 002 and 091 parts and therefore may have come with the 5.43 set. Who knows? |
