We have been adjusting idle and mixture on the injection for a long time, so it's tough to say which came first. If yours is running well, it won't mess it up. One of the theories of oxygen sensors is that they should compensate for minor changes like exhaust flow. One thing the Walker Super Turbo will do is cause you to notice (hear) any misfire or unsteady idle that you might not have noticed before. A response I sent back to another list member follows: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Yes it is a high flow turbo muffler. If you are familiar with the company that does some great work with fwd VW performance: Techtonics, this is the muffler that they use in their performance exhausts. Yes it is round, 6" diameter I think. The muffler brackets on the engine do need to modified some. I cut the last few inches off of these brackets (which eliminated the stock clamping band) and now have the muffler held in with a long SS threaded hose clamp. This is not a direct mindless swap, it will need some short bits of tubing and a little custom work, but it will fit, and it does dissappear up behind the trim panel at the rear of the van. I have had this muffler for more than a year. When it needs to be replaced (which will not be soon) I will replace it with the same. Gary |
