I originally sent this reply to Steve about this weekend's event and realized others on the list might be interested:

The phone number for AVWA is (423) 429-8009. I don't have a schedule of when the events will take place but I can give you the list of events I have left from their brochure.

List includes: 30+ VW show classes, new superbeetle classes, 3 trophies per class, huge swap meet, new parts vendors, Saturday evening parade, 24 hour security, win AVWA "BugBucks", engine soundoff contest, VW burnout contest, stereo contest, engine teardown contest, Miss Circle Yer Wagens Contest.

Most of the events take place on Saturday. There are a few things going on Sunday with the awards given out that afternoon. Campers and vendors arrive on Friday night with some coming in the wee hours.

AVWA web site is www.avwa.com but they don't have a lot of details on the site. Hope to see you there.

BTW, I will be there on Sunday with Vanagon List hats available for sell.

Lynn Sheeley
