Your brakes suck?  Maybe you need to find out why.  My Vanagon has
excellent brakes, and when I need to smash on that pedal, that van stops
RIGHT NOW.  I'm very impressed with the braking ability of my Vanagon,
though I agree ABS would be a nice addition (however mine wouldn't have
had ABS anyway, being an '81).
