My '89 Westy is leaking ATM fluid at a pint a month and I want advice from those who have dealt with this problem. As I see it: 1. I can wait till it quits working. 2. I can get my unit fixed. 3. I can get a rebuilt unit. 4. I can get a used unit. I have 137K miles on the van, owned it since new, and plan to keep it. On my previous '71 Westy, 360K miles and 19 years--I get attached. What is the current collective wisdom and suggestions? Are there any outstanding VW/Vanagon mechanics in the San Francisco area? Thanks in advance, Bruce. |
