> works out to be about 26.7" in diameter. I want to go up to 215R70 16" > (28.0") or 225R70 16" (28.5") BFG All-Terrains. The spare tire is the biggest possible Syncro tire is shown on Coyotes website, 30x9.5x15 I think on an Syncro-16", I'm running 29.2x9.4x15 (which is 235/75/15) no way will it fit underneath. I'd stop at the 28.5" diam also, less chance of rubbing. Solution will be a scrounged swing out rack from Bronco, with new feet bolted onto top of rear bumper for tilt-down effect, latched onto rear hatch/corner. Let's hope this works! other post..... >feeling damage can accur with the spare tire on, to the syncro clutches. I no clutches, much more expensive viscous coupling instead :) >because of the differentials being able to compenstate. On the syncro, I think >the safest place to put the spare would be at the rear. Don't get a flat. no safest place, 4 same size tires. I'm at the extreme of wear on rears, front are healthy treads, and I suspect I'm winding up the VC too much. When I broke the front joint I could hear the freed up axle clicking steadily when driving straight, meaning some speed differential F to R. I don't highway with this setup, town/offroad only. So I keep my fingers crossed. The VC tolerates some speed mismatch before lockup, I'm abusing that I suspect. One remedy I can see to grossly mis-sized tires to try and air down the bigger tires until rolling diameter matches the fully inflated 14" tire, then limp home slowly (my plan). Alternative would be to carry a tube and really have fun fitting it in. That 'flat-sealer' in a can is not a bad concept now. Final point, since I like Yokohamas, Yoko F742, 8 ply heavy lugged, in 7.00R15 is about 29.4" diam. These are tall narrow tires, will likely fit better than the 9.3" wide MTs I have. "not for extended summer or high speed driving" sez right in the catalogue. bye, Tim |
